2025 Position Statement on Active Outdoor Play

Outdoor Play Canada ‘s 2025 Position Statement on Active Outdoor Play — updated and expanded from the 2015 version — details the benefits of outdoor play for individuals, communities, ecosystems, and the planet. It reviewes links to climate change, education and learning, health and well-being, human rights and policy, and more. It also includes guidance for action on an international scale.

Outdoor Play Canada is a national organization that brings together advocates, practitioners, researchers and partner organizations to promote, protect, and preserve access to play in nature and the outdoors for all people living in Canada.
