Fairplay released a report assessing Instagram’s teen features and found that two out of three tools (of the 47 in total reviewed) were ineffective or nonexistent. The report concludes that platform self-regulation by Meta is insufficient to protect teens using Instagram, and recommends policy solutions, including the passage of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA.)
