Mahmut Sami Gurdal

Mahmut Sami Gurdal is a PhD candidate in Human Development at Virginia Tech, where he also earned his Master’s degree in Spring 2024. His research focuses on the role of technology on children’s development within the family context. Specifically, he examines how emotion regulation relates to screen media use in both parents and children, with particular attention to media interactivity, content, and contextual factors. He currently serves as a graduate research assistant at the Cognitive Developmental Science (CoDeS) Lab at Virginia Tech.
