
S. Craig Watkins, PhD
S. Craig Watkins is the Ernest A. Sharpe Centennial Professor and Executive Director of the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. Craig is the author of six books, which explore young people’s evolving relationship with computer-mediated technologies and the health and well-being implications. Craig is also a Principal Investigator for the Good Systems Grand Challenge, a University of Texas at Austin initiative designed to catalyze multidisciplinary research related to artificial intelligence. Craig serves on advisories groups for Google, Pew Research Center, American Psychological Association, and Fathom, a new organization committed to a successful transition to a world with AI. He is also a co-principal investigator for an NIH grant to better understand how AI and machine learning can identify the risk factors implicated in suicide among youth.
