Sachin Maharaj, PhD

Sachin Maharaj, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership, Policy and Program Evaluation at the University of Ottawa.  His past research has focused on the work of school boards/districts, teacher unions, and the equity implications of school choice.  His current research, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, examines the implementation of policies to restrict student cellphone use in schools.  Professor Maharaj is also a contributor to the Toronto Star newspaper and regularly appears in media outlets like  CBC, CTV, Al Jazeera, Maclean’s and  TVO.
