Steven Roberts, PhD

Dr. Steven Roberts is Professor of Sociology at Monash University, Australia. His research examines masculinities, men’s and boys’ lives, misogyny and gender inequality, with a focus on how these play out across online spaces, everyday relationships and institutions. His work explores the appeal and influence of the manosphere, online misogyny and their wider social consequences, including in schools. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Youth Studies, incoming Editor of Men and Masculinities and his most recent book, co-authored with Steph Wescott, is Schooling Misogyny (Routledge 2026).
