Alexa Hasse is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University whose research focuses on the intersection between positive youth development and how young people navigate and make sense of digital technologies. In particular, she is interested in applying developmental science-grounded character education models to youth digital media engagement, with a focus on supporting empathy and prosocial behavior. Before her doctoral studies, she served as Director of Education for the Youth and Media team at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. She holds degrees from Boston College, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the Boston College Lynch School of Education.
