Cyber Civics and Cyberwise

Diana Graber, M.A., is the author of Raising Humans in a Digital World: Helping Kids Build a Healthy Relationship with Technology (HarperCollins Leadership) and the founder of Cyber Civics and CyberWise, two leading organizations promoting digital literacy education. She also writes the “Raising Humans in a Digital World” column for Psychology Today.

Cyber Civics is a teacher-led digital and AI literacy curriculum now used in schools across the U.S. and internationally, with a 98% renewal rate. CyberWise provides digital literacy resources for parents, educators, and organizations. Together, the two organizations also develop custom curriculum—including AI literacy programs—for other educational organizations and partners.

Graber launched Cyber Civics in 2011 with a simple premise: kids need human skills—empathy, critical thinking, ethical reasoning—more than technical ones. That human-centered approach earned recognition as an “Innovation in Education” finalist by Project Tomorrow and the O.C. Tech Alliance.

A recipient of the 2017 Media Literacy Teacher Award from the National Association for Media Literacy Education, Graber has also served as an adjunct professor of media psychology. Her insights on kids and technology have been featured by the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more.

She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA and an M.A. in Media Psychology and Social Change from Fielding Graduate University.
