Ine Beyens, PhD

Dr. Ine Beyens is an assistant professor of communication science in the Amsterdam School of Communication Research and the Center for Research on Children, Adolescents, and the Media at the University of Amsterdam, where she leads Project AWeSome, an interdisciplinary project that investigates how social media shape adolescents’ mental health. Ine’s research focuses on how digital media influence the emotional, psychological, and social development of children and adolescents, with a particular emphasis on the role of parents in shaping their children’s digital media use and its potential risks and benefits.
