Marie Bragg, PhD
Marie Bragg, PhD, earned her PhD in clinical psychology at Yale University and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health at the NYU School of Medicine and holds an affiliate appointment in the Marketing Department at NYU Stern School of Business. Her research examines the influence how adolescent health issues are affected by 1) social media use and 2) food marketing. She received the NIH Early Independence Award and two NIH R01s to evaluate the effects of state-level policies social media restrictions and to study how exposure to unhealthy food and beverage advertisements affects food choices among Black and Latinx youth. Dr. Bragg has testified on three public policies and served as an Expert Witness in a litigation case against tech companies, Senior Behavioral Expert at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, and expert reviewer for the World Health Organization and U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, NPR, TIME Magazine, Fox News, CBS, NBC, The Atlantic, USA Today, and Sirius XM Radio.
