Mona Leigh Guha, PhD

Mona Leigh Guha is a Researcher with Knology and a Senior Fellow with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop. She is committed to research that improves the world by listening to, including, and amplifying the voices of children. She is a researcher, designer, and educator focused on early and middle childhood, children’s technology and media, and both informal and formal educational environments. She has served as the director of the University of Maryland’s lab school, the Center for Young Children. She has worked in supporting co-design of technology and media with and for children, cultivated through work with the University of Maryland’s KidsTeam program, first as a graduate student and later as the leader of the program. Mona Leigh has also served as the Director of Research and Evaluation for PBS KIDS. Mona Leigh has also been an early childhood educator in public school classrooms and a researcher in academic environments with an emphasis on qualitative and mixed methods. Mona Leigh has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a master’s degree in special education, and a PhD in human development.
