Tenelle Porter, PhD

Tenelle Porter is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Rowan University. Her research spans developmental, social, and educational psychology and explores intellectual character strengths like intellectual humility, open-mindedness and curiosity. She investigates the origins of various character strengths, factors that encourage or discourage their development, and their consequences for individuals and social groups. Tenelle earned a PhD from Stanford University, a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and several resilient houseplants.
